Changing the Standard for Those Who Serve

SRT Heart Doc is a tactical cardiology platform created to address a critical gap: the cardiac risks faced by professionals in law enforcement, military, EMS, and tactical medicine.

Founded by Dr. Donny R. Stokes — a board-certified cardiologist and active SWAT medical officer — the platform delivers field-adapted training, risk recognition tools, and mission-ready medical resources built for high-stakes environments.

SRT Heart Doc serves the individuals who carry the physical, mental, and cardiac burden of service, and the agencies responsible for keeping them healthy, prepared, and protected. Through education, innovation, and medically grounded strategy, the goal is simple: to raise the standard and reduce preventable loss in the line of duty.

What You Need to Know

Tactical cardiology is a growing field — and we’re leading the charge. Here’s what sets this work apart and why it matters.

  • SRT Heart Doc is a tactical cardiology platform founded by Dr. Donny R. Stokes — a board-certified cardiologist and active SWAT medical officer. The platform provides cardiovascular education, training tools, and downloadable resources tailored for high-risk professions, including law enforcement, military, EMS, and tactical medical teams.

  • Tactical cardiology is the specialized practice of cardiovascular care designed for operational environments. It focuses on early risk detection, field-adapted protocols, and cardiac survival strategies specific to professionals who operate under extreme physical and mental stress.

  • Cardiac events remain a leading cause of death in the line of duty — often striking without warning. Many of these outcomes are preventable with better screening, training, and preparation. SRT Heart Doc exists to close that gap and save lives through practical, evidence-based action.

  • Our tools are built for SWAT medics, military teams, firefighters, EMS providers, field trainers, agency medical officers, and any professional working in high-stakes, high-stress roles. We also serve the agencies responsible for training, supporting, and protecting these individuals.

Dr. Donny R. Stokes is a board-certified cardiologist, tactical medical consultant, and the founder of SRT Heart Doc. He brings a rare combination of clinical expertise and operational field experience to the mission of tactical cardiology.

His service began as a combat medic in the Mississippi Army National Guard, followed by a commission as an Army nurse in the United States Army Reserve. He later served as a commissioned officer in the Mississippi State Guard and has worked alongside elite agencies including the U.S. Marshals and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.

Dr. Stokes currently serves as a medical officer on his local county’s SWAT/Special Response Team and is a member of the National Tactical Officers Association. He’s trained in advanced cardiac and trauma care and regularly works in both hospital and field environments.

Through SRT Heart Doc, he’s building a national and global initiative to raise the standard of cardiac care for those who face the highest risks — not just in theory, but in the real world. Whether it’s publishing field guides, writing training protocols, or educating medical teams, his goal is clear: protect the lives of those who protect others.

Meet the Founder

I’ve watched strong, capable operators collapse from preventable cardiac events. This work is personal. Tactical Cardiology is long overdue.

Help Us Change the Standard

Every professional who puts on a uniform deserves a chance to go home, not just because of their training or tactics, but because their health was protected, too.

SRT Heart Doc exists to spark change at every level: from the individual operator in the field to the agencies shaping wellness policies and training programs. We’re not here to raise awareness — we’re here to build solutions, drive adoption, and keep preventable loss off the report.

If you're ready to lead that change — with your team, your department, or your community — we want to work with you.

Let’s build something better.
